  1. This first image is interesting tonally. For the most part, it uses noncoincidence of tone, but we're able to make out the subject because of the light rimming his figure. Using tone this way could have interesting implications in storytelling, because it has a different effect depending on whether the character is someone we don't know or if it is someone who we can already recognize.

    This is my favorite photo of your three this week. The palette is limited to the middle-lower section of the tonal scale, and the entire photo is very desaturated. This, along with the vertical and horizontal lines, gives it a very designed, stylized feel. I like the way I can I ready get an idea of what kind of emotion this location would evoke, even without any characters giving it narrative presence.

    This photo has an interesting use of tone. It's not exactly noncoincidence, but we can't see very much very clearly. Even though the background is quite dark, this isn't exactly suspenseful, even though I don't know what is going to happen. The contrast--black and white--is nice, but I'm not really sure what to do with it.
